The Kings Arms is situated in the quaint Cumbrian village of Burton-in-Kendal, situated near to the oustanding natural beauty of the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and the historic city of Lancaster with easy access to the M6 motorway. Previously an old coaching inn as early as 1763, the Kings Arms is a small family run traditional tavern, offering a warm and friendly service with excellent cuisine served in our recently extended restuarant. Locally their are plenty of activities, such as a number of local fisheries for the angler, the Capernwray Dive Centre , Equestrian and outdoor pursuit centres for those wanting an active break and for those wanting the more leisurely break we are perfectly sited to explore the area and then come back to relax in a traditional coaching inn based in a pretty Cumbrian Village. For those passing through and needing a short stopover the Kings Arms is 5 minutes off the the M6 at Junction 35 or 36 and is an ideal stop over venue for those wishing to break long journeys up to Scotland or down South.All room in the hotel are non smoking, if a guest disregards this,we will apply a £50 per room night surcharge to : deep clean the room, dispose of linens and replace fixed fabrics etc

Directions

From the North By car Leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 36 , bear first left off the roundabout and take the third exit off the next roundabout on to the A6070 for Burton and Holme , travel 3 miles till you enter the village of Burton the Kings Arms Hotel is in the centre of the village on the left hand side, turn in to the right after the Kings and there is a large car park at the rear of the premises.From The South By Car Leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 35 , bear first left off the roundabout and drive towards A6 at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit to A6 Milnthorpe and drive approx 1mile to next roundabout at the holiday village take the second exit off the roundabout towards Tewitfield Locks on the A6070 and drive for 3 miles in to the heart of the village the Kings Arms Hotel is on your left , please turn in to the left before the kings and there is a large car park at the rear of the premises.Rail : Burton is near to the main West Coast Line and can be accessed via taxi or bus from Carnforth Station (4 miles) from the South or Oxenholme station ( 7 miles) from the NorthBus: The village is on a main bus route the 555 and 557 a scenic bus route which runs between Lancaster, through the very heart of the lake district and up to Carlisle and back , this stops in the village square 50metres North of the Kings Arms.
